White PVC soffit and frieze board being installed at the eave above a fieldstone wall

AZEK Fascia and Soffit Replacement in Lititz, PA

When wood fascia and soffit reach the end of their life on an older Lititz home, patching and repainting only buys a season or two. On this project the homeowner was tired of the cycle, so we replaced the failing wood at the eaves with low-maintenance AZEK trim and vented panels. The result is a clean roofline that never needs painting and will not rot the next time water finds its way behind the gutter.

What the Lititz AZEK project involved

The eaves on this home had the classic signs of wood failure: peeling paint, soft spots near the gutter seams, and a soffit that had started to sag. Once we opened it up, the scope was clear.

  • Removal of the old wood fascia, frieze board, and soffit
  • Inspection and repair of the rafter tails behind the trim
  • New cellular PVC fascia and frieze board, fastened for thermal movement
  • Vented panels to keep attic airflow working
  • Clean paint-free finish that matches the home’s trim color

Because AZEK is cellular PVC, it does not absorb water, so it cannot rot or feed mold. On a home where the fascia had already failed once, that is the whole point of the upgrade.

Why the installation details matter

PVC trim rewards careful work and punishes shortcuts. It expands and contracts with temperature more than wood, so the fasteners, spacing, and joints all have to be handled correctly or the trim buckles in the first hot summer. We glued the joints and detailed the runs so the eave stays flat and tight for decades. You can read more about the material from AZEK Building Products.

Considering the same upgrade?

Fascia, soffit, and trim all live together at the roofline, so replacing them as a system gives you a clean, low-maintenance eave in one visit. This work is part of our AZEK trim and aluminum service, and our guide on replacing wood fascia with PVC trim walks through the process in detail.
